ARTWORK
John Duckworth | "Church Creek divides Johns Island, SC from Wadmalaw Island, SC. It's a favorite spot for local fishermen to drop their lines in the water from the bridge which was named after Essau Jenkins - a local civil rights leader who was friends with Martin Luther King Jr. and a powerful man himself. I climb down under the bridge to capture the sunset, creating ripples with my feet as i wade into the water."

VINEYARD NOTES
96 year old, dry farmed, fertile sandy loam soils, naturally low-yielding . Mild winter, normal to a bit late bud break, solid crop set, freakishly wonderful summer with very long hang time. Yields were just over 2.8 TPA and we brought the fruit in on September 12th.
WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES
Destemmed, stainless tank fermented with gentle pumpovers twice daily, indigenous primary & secondary fermentations, aged in neutral French oak barrels for 8 months sur lees. Rich ruby red in color. Pretty, floral notes of rose & gardenia, ripe blackberry, orange pekoe tea, and mint. Subtle background notes of baked berry pie and sassafras. Medium bodied flavors of ripe plum and raspberry framed with velvety tannins. Finishes long with hints of tea and baker’s chocolate. 14.3% alc. 12 barrels made.
