THERE ARE MOMENTS IN LIFE THAT DESERVE TO BE
BOTTLED.

The stillness of a golden afternoon, the hush of twilight settling over a vineyard, the laughter of old friends
gathered around a table.

At Timeplace Wine Co., we craft wines that honor these fleeting instants, capturing the essence of
time and place in every bottle.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES

Fresh, perfumy nose of ripe, ruby red grapefruit, grassy notes and slight hints of tropical fruits. Lush, chewy flavors of ruby grapefruit, citrus peel and lime give way to long, lean squeeze of Meyer lemon. Stainless steel fermented and aged. Racked clean after 50% Malic fermentation to preserve freshness and retain some natural acidity.

VINEYARD NOTES

2024 unfolded from a wet winter, cool spring into a hot summer and ended up being one of the earliest harvests I’ve worked since 1998. The fruit comes primarily from Suisun Valley, one of my favorite regions for growing expressive, citrus laden Sauvignon Blanc. The cooling breezes off the San Pablo Bay impart a verve that runs through the fruit translating into the finished wine.

A couple select sites throughout Monterey County. 2022 started with another rain-starved winter but was a pretty normal year with a few days of extreme heat early September. Regardless of where you are down there, the wind and mild, steady coastal temps make for wonderfully balanced Chardonnay. Harvest September 10th-15th.

These grapes come primarily from the northern valley near Calistoga, where warm temperatures enhance body and create a softer mouthfeel. Grapes from Yountville add roundness, along with balanced tannins and acidity. The 2023 vintage was marked by a late bud break and an extended, cool summer, allowing for an unusually long hang time. Harvested October 29th-November 9th.

At Time Place Wine Co., we believe that wine is more than a drink—it is a passage through time, a way to hold onto something ephemeral, and a reminder that the most meaningful experiences are best shared.

THE WINEMAKER

JAMEY WHETSTONE

When I moved to Napa Valley from my hometown in South Carolina back in 1996 to manage Mustards Grill, I had no idea how deeply this place would capture my heart. The vibrant community, the lifestyle, and the wine culture pulled me in, and before I knew it, Napa had become home.

By 1998, I was diving headfirst into winemaking at Turley Wine Cellars, where I apprenticed until 2005. Along the way, I spent a transformative summer with the Seysses family at Domaine Dujac in Morey-Saint-Denis, an experience that deepened my understanding of winemaking and inspired the foundation of Whetstone Wine Cellars in 2002.

Today, I’m proud to craft wines that over-deliver on quality, bringing passion and a bit of my journey into every glass.

We work with growers that farm sustainably, where possible.

LODI RULES for Sustainable Winegrowing is California’s original sustainable viticultural program. This program truly began from the ground up, with grape growers deciding it was important for the future of the Lodi region. Our certification process is rigorous, based in science, voluntary and third party accredited and audited. LODI RULES certified growers make up an innovative community with a history and commitment of farming quality wine grapes through the implementation of viticulture practices that balance environmental, social and economic goals. LODI RULES is designed to communicate their commitment to sustainable agriculture to wineries and to the general public.

When you drink a glass of wine made from LODI RULES certified grapes, you are supporting a farmer, a vintner, and an entire agricultural community that embraces their responsibility to care for the environment and their neighbors.

THE ARTIST

John Duckworth’s works transcend the line between realism and abstraction. His photographs are infused with an intimate knowledge of nature, a passion for pure color, and a rhythm drawn from life itself. His trademark style involves abstracting the photographic image to lend the work a much lauded painterly appearance. By providing the viewer a sense of place, yet obscuring the details, he allows each individual to step into the image and bring forth their own visual history. The ensuing narrative is enriched through the power of memory, infusing a personal creative process with universal appeal.
